About Jacky And Bowen

I am a qualified and experienced Bowen Technique practitioner, passionate about Bowen - every day I continue to be in awe of the improvements to general health and well-being that this work can bring, in so many ways. I was drawn to this amazing therapy through experiencing its benefits myself, back in 2008. I had been suffering with weekly migraine all my adult life when, having tried various medications and numerous other therapies, Bowen was recommended to me. I had not heard of it at the time, but was willing to give it a try, and have not looked back since, with a huge reduction in both severity and frequency of migraine.

A couple of years later, facing redundancy, I decided to change direction completely toward complementary therapy. I did some research and looked into the process of becoming a Bowen practitioner and finally commenced training through the College of Bowen Studies (CBS). Before entering the world of complementary therapy in 2011, I had worked for twenty-two years in Local Government, the last eleven years of that time as Traffic Management Officer for St Edmundsbury Borough Council within a busy highway engineering section. My whole working life has involved dealing directly with people, helping to solve problems, and this is what I thoroughly enjoy.

I now work full time in our complementary therapy business, well beans. The majority of my clients come in for Bowen, with most of my work through word-of-mouth recommendation. I also run a Bowen Children's Clinic at Well Beans, and served on the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) committee as Children's Clinic Coordinator from 2014 to 2017.

I am qualified as an EMMETT Technique practitioner and this amazing set of bodywork skills has enhanced the effectiveness of my therapy sessions further, as, although it is a 'stand-alone' therapy, it also works very well when incorporated within a Bowen session.

In addition, I am a registered Bach Flower practitioner and thoroughly enjoy this aspect of my work. The impact of our emotions on our general state of health cannot be underestimated and this wonderful healing system based on the essences of natural flowers and trees is a gift to us all that constantly fascinates me. I am also qualified in Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling , Holistic Facial Massage, Seated Acupressure Massage and Thai Foot Massage and enjoy the variety of working with these additional therapeutic practices.
